The American Dream-Great Gatsby

Let us leave this ailing night
you and I
This city never sleeps
you can't hear one cricket chirp
not one owl singing it's sorrowful song
exhaust fills your lungs, and you feel agitated.

they never stop and look up at the pale white pearl
in the sky shimmering
they rush past us, always watching the clock
no they don't care
their fancy work suits and ironed ties.

I'll take us to a place far from here
let us be in peace
where we can gaze at the pearl in the sky
and not worry about their "precious" time

For our dreams are endless
we have eachother
you and I,
me and you,
I knew that we would both come through
